Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa, is a beautiful golden-roofed Buddhist Temple in the heart of Kandy Sri Lanka.
A tooth of Buddha brought to the island in the 4th century. The temple was built between 1867 and 1707 specifically to honour this sacred relic.
Buddha’s tooth relic lives here and is considered the most important in Sri Lanka. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in Sri Lanka politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country.
The Temple has long since been a place of importance for both Sri Lankan and international visitors.

British Garrison Cemetery
The Kandy War Cemetery is Located just a ten minutes from the Kandy City. This military cemetery is the resting place for soldiers of the British Empire who sacrificed their lives during the war.

You can see 203 of them are buried here, including 107 British, 35 East Africans, 26 Sri Lankan soldiers and 23 Indians Their positions varied from army, air force, to navy.

The Bahirawakanda Buddha Statue is located on the top of the Bahirawa Kanda hill about 10 minutes away from Kandy City. Buddha Statue built in 1992, it’s over 88 feet high and one of the giant Buddha statue in Sri Lanka.
